Lucid Gravity Touring Review: A Strong Act 2 from the Electric SUV Pioneer

When Lucid introduced the Air electric sedan in late 2021, it set a new standard for high-performance electric vehicles. Now, with the Gravity Touring, the company is expanding its lineup to include an electric SUV that’s just as impressive. I recently had the chance to test drive the 2026 Lucid Gravity Touring and was impressed by its capabilities.

Performance and Range

The Gravity Touring uses a 16-module, 89-kWh battery pack, which delivers 560 horsepower (418 kW) and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque. While this is less than the Grand Touring’s 828 hp (617 kW), the Touring still offers plenty of power for everyday driving. In fact, I found that I never needed more power during my week-long test drive. The driving range of 337 miles (542 km) was also sufficient, and I easily managed to cover over 320 miles on a single charge.

Charging up the Gravity proved easy at any one of several local Tesla Supercharger stations. Lucid’s support for plug-and-charge (ISO 15118) and verification of account details with compatible chargers made the process seamless. The Gravity can also add up to 200 miles (321 km) on an 11-minute charge, though this requires a 400 kWh DC fast charger.

Handling and Features

The Gravity Touring’s handling is impressive, thanks in part to its three-chamber air suspension. This system strikes a pleasing balance between ride comfort and body roll control, making the vehicle feel agile and responsive on twisty roads. The optional Dynamic Handling package adds rear-wheel steering, which further enhances the SUV’s agility.

Inside, the Gravity Touring offers a range of features, including a 22-speaker audio system, Comfort and Convenience package, third-row seating, and luxury seating package. My test vehicle also came equipped with Dream Drive 2.0 Pro, an optional collection of active driver assists that includes hands-free driving assist, automatic lane change assist, and even an alert to warn of impending curb rash while parking.

Design and Verdict

Visually, the Touring is almost indistinguishable from the Grand Touring, which is fortunate because its design is one of the vehicle’s strongest assets. The proportions look coherent, and the surfaces are aerodynamic without looking experimental. The illuminated front fascia, full-width lighting elements, and expansive glass roof create a modern aesthetic that feels premium rather than performative.

Overall, I was impressed by the Lucid Gravity Touring’s performance, features, and design. While it may not offer the same level of power as its Grand Touring sibling, it still provides plenty of capability for everyday driving. With its lower price point and impressive capabilities, the Gravity Touring is a strong act 2 from Lucid.
